Situated in the northern textile heartlands
of the United Kingdom,
commission weavers C&J Antich & Sons has over 53 machines and is fully
operational 168 hours per week.
From splendid and futuristic purpose-built premises in Huddersfield,
state-of-the-art technology operates to satisfy an insatiable marketplace,
a marketplace cultivated by a unique approach to the textiles business.
Such thought and care has gone into the planning and preparation of the
C&J Antich & Sons building that it not only boasts the optimum mix and
layout of state-of-the-art equipment in a fully air-conditioned
atmosphere, but it also creates an inspirational and satisfying work
environment.
The company turns out 60/70,000 metres of fabric per week, much of which
is highly technical. The operation is entirely computerized with
statistical process and quality control systems. The emphasis on
computerization and information technology is to enhance the quality
and performance of skilled operatives, and to equip the company with the
tools to accommodate change well into the next century. Fully computerized
jacquard 'name-edge' machines especially complement the first of three
main market niches:
Couture
The foundation on which C&J Antich & Sons was built, this area accounts
for approximately 60% of the business by volume and commissions include
exclusive, lightweight, short-run fabrics for the design and couture
houses of the world.
Bulk Business
An area of work that requires mass production of consistent quality
fabrics for high street markets such as Debenhams, Marks & Spencer,
Next and other leading European retailers.
Corporate contracts
The business has corporate contracts with many leading businesses,
supplying both fabrics and garments to specific requirements. Clients,
such as British Airways, have enjoyed the quality of the C&J Antich &
Sons product and experienced world-class service for a number of years.
Our plant of over 53 machines is fully operational 168 hours per week.
